My passion

If I were to have a topical blog it would have to be about something that I am passionate about. I am almost there with jensenrf.wordpress.com however there is still more work to be done to narrow my scope and find my niche in the blogosphere.  

In general my key interests are within the realm of empowering business and people with the right tools to be successful. I have tried to narrow this down to just business but so much of what I put into practice at work I try to do first and more thoroughly in my own life. Much of this comes down to my personal belief that you personal goals should be managed like a project. So a piece of my blog is about technology and methodologies to manage and get work done or can be closely related to life hacking.  

Specifically my core interests have been in process management, social media and open source or free technology tools.

About me

Rob Jensen is a technology consultant specializing in technical project management, process engineering and organization modeling. Outside of his corporate life his interests include social media, collaboration systems and entrepreneurship.

Born a navy brat however raised in Iowa he has strong midwest roots and a work ethic instilled by his parents. Shortly after graduating from Iowa State University with a major in Management Information Systems Rob moved to Minneapolis, MN to begin his career with Wells Fargo in their Leadership Development Program. After several years with the company he has built an invaluable network and has worked in variety of roles including application test coordination, executive support, and production management strategies.

Outside of his corporate life, Rob is a husband and father of two. His two girls, Celedonia and Olivia, are   

Rob continues to open doors to new opporuntities by pursuing his interests in technology. He has been working closely with colleges in central Iowa including speaking at ISU’s MIS club and providing industry insight to Grand View College’s Math and Science Advisory Board….

Before I begin, thank you for visiting my site.  Your page views are always appreciated and hopefully you will find this site interesting and visit back again.

So why another tumble log?  For some time now I have been looking for a lightweight CMS that I could play with to expand my skills. Tumblr provides just that and all for the low price of free. With Tumblr, I have full access to use a custom theme, create a sidebar with whatever content I can think of and use a custom domain.

Over time I hope to use this site as my portfolio and at the very least a sandbox to demonstrate to others and myself just some of the invaluable free tools available to build and maintain your online presense. So if you are interested in finding a collection of all things about me or just looking to dive into the world of personal branding bookmark this site!
